Jyntang National Park

Jyntang National Park is situated in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya at an altitude of 748m. The area is rich in plants and animals and it has a wide variety of orchids and important medicinal plants like "Cissus quadrangularis", 'Eurycoma longifolia' (popularly known as the 'Long Jack' or 'Tongkat Ali').

Established in 2007 with an area of 295 sq km, Jyntang is located at an altitude of 640 m above sea level. It is located between 25° 49' to 26° 20' N latitude and 91° 52' E longitude. The Park is home to many rare species of flora and fauna including elephants, hoolock gibbons etc.

The best time to visit Jyntang National Park is from November to February. The Park is closed from 15th June to 31st October.
