Cherapunjee Wildlife Sanctuary & Eco-Tourism Centre (CWCET)

The Cherapunjee Wildlife Sanctuary and Eco-Tourism Centre (CWCET), located in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya, was established by the state department of tourism in 2009. The Centre offers various adventure & eco-tourism activities like Rock Climbing, Trekking and River Crossings along with the usual sightseeing and wildlife tours.

The Cherapunjee Wildlife Sanctuary and Eco-Tourism Centre (CWCET) is located at an altitude of 1267m above sea level. This wildlife sanctuary is about 6.74km² of the area and is located on the 7th wonder of the world, the 'Sohra (Cherrapunji) Megaliths'.

This wildlife sanctuary is known for its diverse flora & fauna. Some of the endangered species found here are Hoolock gibbon, Slow loris, Python, Bamboo pit viper etc.

The best time to visit the Cherapunjee Wildlife Sanctuary & Eco-Tourism Centre is from October to February.
