Tripura has a number of places that have been designated as protected areas by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. There are five National Parks: Sepahijala, Gumti, Rowa, Trishna and Sipahijala. In addition to this, there are six wildlife sanctuaries: Bizphuk-Keliaŭa, Unakoti-Lokchaw–Manda Hilli Wildlife Sanctuaries (all three in Tripura Tribal Areas); Peacock Sanctuary in Gomati District; Wedding Cake Island Sanctuary in North Tripura District; Borapansury Sanctuary in Sepahijala District.
There is one bird sanctuary: Agoratolla Garjat Protected Area. There are three natural monuments: Sohel Taj Mahal, Nasir Bagh and Durga Pida Ghat.
Tripura is a state of India. It has many historical and natural monuments which attract tourists from all over the world. Every year lakhs of people come to visit these places.
The best time to visit Tripura is between November and February. The climate is pleasant during the winter season (November-December) with moderate rainfall. April–May of the summer season can also be visited if you like hot weather.
Tripura has an airport at Agartala which connects the region to Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata and Chennai. The nearest railway station is at Agartala which has trains connecting it to different parts of the country including Kolkata, New Jalpaiguri and Howrah. To get a bus to Tripura you can go to any major city in India from where buses leave for Tripura.
